STATUS QUO
STATUS QUO
We must emphasize that this is not a new organization that is being created . It is rather a process or initiative or vehicle, that aims to bring about the participation of all existing organizations, houses, formations, clans, stakeholders to work together, and reach consensus on, amongst other things,
- Common Objectives (outlined in the Memorandum and any other matters that we may agree upon)
- Challenges that we face as a collective
- Creation of a Constitutional Framework/Leadership Structure or Representative Body with a Mandate and Locus Standi to speak/act on our behalf as a collective
- Get rid of the current chaos where anyone speak/act with impunity on our behalf without any mandate and without being able to hold anyone accountable
Whilst we recognize that we are not homogeneous but heterogeneous, and probably the most diverse group of people on earth as a collective, we also are fully aware that every single day, we are still being stereotyped and marginalized as if we are one. We face very complex, substantial issues, and challenges that define and confront us as a collective. Hence we urgently require an Agreement, Constitutional Framework, or a Governance Structure that will enable us to;
- Recognize and acknowledge our diversity and differences
- At the same time allow us the freedom to celebrate and express our uniqueness
- Acknowledge our common threats or enemies and agreement on how to effectively overcome same together
- Realize the implementation of UNDRIP in South Africa
- Negate and address discrimination and marginalization since 1994
Currently our main priorities are the following , ie;
- Our First Omkhaikus ( In Person Meeting and Team Building Event ) from 29 -31 October 2023 in Hermanus for all National Leaders , Interim Planning Committee Members and Work Stream & Provincial Convenors
- Final Preparation for our Pre Summit Event at the CTICC , Cape Town from 16 -19 December 2023
- Raising sufficient funding to ensure that every Leader , Organisation , Stakeholders Representative of all our People Geographically and Culturally can attend and participate in all our events without any constraints
- Refining and Enhancing our Content , Awareness and Outreach Campaigns to ensure that every First Nation , Aboriginal Person and / or their Descendants , Organizations , Houses , Clans are aware of their Real Identity , their Rights afforded by UNDRIP and this Historic Process
